Manatee County, FL (July 1, 2021) - Officials in Manatee County responded to the scene of a three-car accident on Wednesday, June 30th. The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 41 near 53rd Avenue West.
Police say that a 21-year-old old Bradenton man was driving north on U.S. 41 when he lost control of his vehicle. The sedan skidded into the southbound lanes where it collided head-on with a second vehicle. A third southbound vehicle struck the northbound car after the initial collision. The northbound vehicle driver sustained serious injuries in the accident. The drivers of the other two vehicles suffered serious injuries.
No further information has been released at this time.

The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the victim and the driver in a tragic Valentine's Day crash that left a 2-year-old boy dead. The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. on US 1 near Southwest 296th Street. Troopers say that 2-year-old Anthony De Leon was with his mother inside a Valentine's Day vendors tent at the time of the crash. According to reports, a 2019 Dodge Charger driven by 42-year-old Hanskabell Amargos was traveling northbound on US 1 when the car veered out of control. The Charger left the roadway and collided with the tent, trapping De Leon underneath. Rescue workers and Good Samaritans worked to free the boy. De Leon was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Read more
