You might think that all accidents are the same, and cut-and-dry. When you receive injuries, you know that you can bring a claim for compensation you deserve. But what happens when your specific accident involves a police cruiser? Does this change the course of your case and what you should expect from it?
A Marion County cruiser was involved in an accident last evening. The cruiser struck an SUV and all three occupants of two vehicles received minor injuries, requiring trips to the hospital.
At the time, 25-year-old Joseph Soucey was driving a police cruiser for Marion County when he was called to an emergency operation. 45-year-old Margaret Segarra was around the same area in her SUV, with 47-year-old Jose Segarra-Moreno as the passenger. The patrol vehicle approached an intersection and failed to slow in time. Segarra could not avoid the collision and the two got into an accident.
The SUV exited the roadway and struck a fence. Everybody inside had injuries, though none were life-threatening. Charges are pending at this time.
