Marion County, FL (June 28, 2018) – When a tow truck accident occurred in Marion County, two young children lost their lives. One woman suffered serious injuries and another woman also suffered minor injuries in the accident when a Buick and tow truck collided into one another.
At the time of the incident, 24-year-old Latoya James was driving her Buick with two passengers, 2-year-old Dejay Rocker and 1-year-old Ivyana Rocker.
An updated release on the accident showed that those two children lost their lives due to the accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. They were originally taken to the Ocala Regional Medical Center with severe injuries but died after being transferred to another hospital.
The driver of the tow truck was identified as 55-year-old John Douglas Clayton Jr. He had a passenger, identified as 52-year-old Caren Mills. The Buick was traveling into their lane of the road and so the tow truck driver had to take evasive action to avoid them. However, it ended in a head-on collision that led to many injuries and the two deaths of the children involved.
The children were not wearing seatbelts and were not in proper child seats. Charges are pending at this time, since the accident is being investigated.
Children are injured and killed in accidents every year, as much as we do not want to believe that it could happen to our children in the blink of an eye. Every 3 hours, somebody will lose their lives on Florida roads.
