Many people, especially children, use bicycles as a preferred mode of transportation. Bicycling is great exercise and a fun hobby for many Floridians. The dangers of riding a bicycle, however, cannot be understated. The fact is that any crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle is likely to lead to very serious injuries and even death in some cases. Bicyclists should always remember to wear helmets and follow all applicable safety and traffic laws to reduce the risk of a collision.
In this crash, it appears as though the driver was negligent by failing to yield to the bicyclist. Such negligence would entitle the bicyclist to bring a personal injury claim to recover for pain and suffering, medical bills and more.
