Yesterday, 69-year-old Martinita Bishop was driving her Ford Focus while a Ford Explorer police cruiser was parked on Marion County Road 484. It had its emergency lights activated, as an officer was directing traffic from a previous crash.
For unknown reasons, Bishop tried to pass the patrol vehicle on the right side. However, when doing so, her vehicle struck the right rear end of the police cruiser. Their vehicles spun and came to a rest.
Bishop received minor injuries and did not require transport to a hospital. She was cited.
