In St. Petersburg, a motorcyclist was left in critical condition following an accident. 27-year-old Matthew Chappell was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries after the accident. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The accident happened when 42-year-old Jessica Bays were driving her Mazda southbound on 49th Street and preparing to make a left turn. She did not see the motorcycle that Chappell was on at the time and turned into his path of travel. The motorcycle accident caused him to be thrown from the bike.
Motorcycle accidents can be both minor or severe in nature, depending on the extent.
