We are saddened to hear of this news involving a child pedestrian in Miami. Pedestrian accidents are, sadly, quite severe in many cases. Approximately 75% of all pedestrian crashes result in a visit to the emergency room for the pedestrian involved.
At this time, we do not have enough information to determine how this crash occurred or whether the driver will ultimately be held legally responsible. Drivers have a duty at all times to maintain a proper lookout and to ensure that they operate their vehicle safely. In areas where pedestrians are likely to be found, a driver should take care to watch for pedestrians.
