Hit-and-run collisions are an epidemic in Florida. With about 100,000 of these crashes reported each year, many innocent victims will be seriously hurt or killed by drivers who wrongfully choose to flee the scene of a crash that they caused. Negligent drivers will often try to avoid responsibility for their actions by leaving before police can arrive, thus making a tragic event even worse.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of Derek Betancourt at this time.
