Miami, FL (July 8, 2018) – A Florida man was reported as stabbing his girlfriend and then driving the wrong way down the highway, which caused a multi-car accident.
The man who committed the crime was identified as William Ronald Ferguson, who was under the influence of drugs when he drove off in his Kia SUV and caused the crash. It led to at least one death of a person on the roadway.
Before the incident, the 27-year-old got into an argument with his girlfriend before getting into his vehicle. The girlfriend has not yet been identified but she told police that she and Ferguson were at home when he became paranoid and told her that people were watching him and that he had to leave. He pulled out a knife and stabbed her twice, in the neck and on her upper left arm. She ran away from him and locked a door in the house, which caused him to leave in his vehicle.
Ferguson’s girlfriend was taken to the hospital and received treatment. Ferguson then drove northbound on the highway in a southbound express lane on Interstate 95 in Miami, which led to the multi-car accident.
Several people in the area claimed that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed in a reckless manner. The man then struck with four vehicles, one of which was a head-on collision. The driver of that vehicle died at the scene of the incident. There were some minor injuries but nobody else except for Ferguson had to be taken to the hospital Ferguson was taken to a trauma center and had a broken arm due to the accident.
Ferguson has received multiple injuries due to the accident.
