Miami, FL (February 17, 2019) - A crash involving three vehicles took place on I-95 in Miami. The accident occurred around 5:00 am on Saturday, February 16th.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Corvette, a BMW and a white Honda were involved in the accident near the exit for Northwest 125th Street. Witnesses at the scene say that the Corvette and the BMW were drag racing on the highway. As one of the vehicles sped down the street, it rear-ended the Honda, causing it to overturn and then erupt into flames.
Two occupants inside the Honda were able to escape the vehicle. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and one was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for further treatment. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash at this time.
A reportable accident takes place every 92 seconds in Florida. A car accident usually happens suddenly, unexpectedly and without warning. As we see here, accidents often involve simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It would appear as though the occupants of the Honda were victims of the negligence of two other drivers who chose to drive recklessly, thus causing a crash.
