When you are involved in an accident, you expect the driver responsible to stop at the scene. However, sometimes it doesn’t happen this way and it ends in a devastating hit-and-run accident.
A Tallahassee man, 22-year-old Monterius Koonce, was put behind bars when he admitted to hitting another vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot. An officer saw Koonce’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Orange Avenue. The vehicle suddenly braked at a red light and collided with another vehicle in an intersection.
Police noticed two men running into the woods after the incident. The victims were taken to the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare center with multiple injuries. On Sunday, Koonce admitted to leaving the scene of the accident. He admitted to driving too fast after he left a party. His passenger told him to run, so they both took off into the woods.
