Naples, FL (March 10, 2019) - A 37-year-old man died after he was tragically struck by a trailer on Saturday, March 9th.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Juan Yescas Cano was a passenger in a Ford F-350 pickup truck that was towing a trailer. The truck stopped in the median of Santa Barbara Boulevard to drop off Cano and another passenger. As Cano and the other passenger stood in the median, the truck moved forward. Cano was between the rear of the truck and the trailer at the time. The trailer struck Cano and then drove over him. He suffered critical injuries and later died at an area hospital.
The driver of the truck was not immediately identified. It is unclear whether anyone else was injured. The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
