Riding a bicycle can be a very hazardous activity. Almost 10,000 pedestrians were injured in accident crashes last year, and bicyclists are very vulnerable to suffering death or serious injury if they are involved in a vehicle crash. When a bicyclist is hurt in a crash with a vehicle, police must closely examine the scene to determine the exact sequence of the accident. Once the investigation is complete, a determination will be made as to negligence and, ultimately, responsibility, for the crash.
