Reports show that nobody acted or reported 20-year-old George Stephan before he was involved in a wrong-way accident in Sanford. The deadly crash took place on Sunday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
George Stephan drove his vehicle head-on into a 2012 Mercedes. The driver tried to get out of the way before they collided. The crash killed the driver as well as his passenger, 19-year-old Gretchen Roberts. Sgt. Kim Montes said that usually drivers will report when somebody is headed in the wrong direction, but they received no such reports this time.
The driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries. It is believed but not verified that Stephan might have been under the influence at the time.
