North Fort Myers, FL (August 19, 2019) - A woman killed in a crash in North Fort Myers over the weekend has been identified by authorities. The crash happened on Pine Island Road near the intersection with Barrett Road on Saturday, August 17th.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the crash involving five vehicles. Police say that 32-year-old Stefan Lippke was driving a 2012 Bentley westbound when he failed to stop for slowed traffic. Lippke crashed into the rear of another vehicle, setting off a chain-reaction crash involving three other vehicles. The driver of the third vehicle, 72-year-old Carolyn Erwin, died as a result of injuries she suffered in the crash. Lippke suffered minor injuries, and no one else was hurt.
Troopers are still investigating and charges are pending against Lippke at this time. No further details are available.
