North Miami, FL (October 28, 2018) - An SUV collided with a preschool building in North Miami on Saturday, October 27th. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the incident at Skipper Chuck's Child Care on Saturday morning.
The vehicle, a red Dodge Durango, crashed into the building and was completely inside by the time officials arrived on scene. Fortunately, there were no children inside the building when the crash occurred. The building suffered heavy damage from the crash and will have to be closed while it is repaired.
Two people were reported injured in the accident and were transported to a hospital for treatment. It is unclear at this time whether the two injured victims were inside the vehicle or inside the building. There is no word on the extent of the injuries sustained.
The crash remains under investigation.
Each year, approximately 250,000 people are reported injured in Florida car accidents. This story serves to illustrate that a car accident can literally happen anywhere at any time. In this crash, it appears fortunate that the building was not occupied by young children when the SUV crashed into the structure.
