Approximately 700 people were killed in Florida pedestrian accidents last year. On average, two fatal pedestrian crashes are reported every day in our state. Pedestrians who are walking at night or in the early morning hours are the most vulnerable to being struck by vehicles. Poor lighting and inattentive drivers are major contributing factors in many pedestrian deaths.
