Ocala, FL (June 13, 2019) - A crash in the northbound lanes of I-75 left two motorcyclists dead on Thursday, June 13th. The accident took place near mile marker 343.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene. According to investigators, a group of three motorcyclists and a tractor-trailer were traveling in the northbound lanes when two of the motorcyclists lost control of their bikes. The motorcycles then slid into the center lane. The tractor-trailer ran over both bikers as they were in the center of the road. Both were pronounced dead at the crash scene. The victims have not been identified at this time.
The northbound lanes remained closed while officers were at the scene. No additional information is available.

A hit-and-run crash in Escambia County left a pedestrian dead on Sunday, November 18th. Police were called to the intersection of Pine Forest Road and Franciscan Drive around 9:15 pm in reference to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash. When officers arrived, they discovered that an unidentified pedestrian had been walking in the southbound lanes of Pine Forest Road when he was struck by a vehicle. After the initial crash, the pedestrian was struck by a White Sedan. The sedan left the scene after the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
