Okaloosa County, FL (July 7, 2018) – On Okaloosa Island, a three-car accident took place on Highway 98 that led to injuries in multiple parties. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident, which took place around 7:24 p.m.
One lane of the highway was blocked for about 40 minutes while emergency crews, police and more worked at the scene. One witness said that they saw a speeding vehicle fly on through in the area and strike the rear-end of an SUV.
He said that he tried to signal to the driver and laid on his car because he knew the two were about to collide, but he said that the driver never touched the brakes. He said that the driver traveled about 60 mph straight into the back of the SUV. He said that the SUV was nearly stopped in traffic and the impact sent it forward, where it struck a truck.
Several people had to be taken to the hospital but their conditions have not been released. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
