Orange County, FL (August 25, 2021) - Two people suffered injuries after a head-on accident in Orange County on Tuesday, August 24th. The crash took place around 6:40 a.m. on State Road 417 near Dowden Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV was traveling northbound on SR 417. The driver lost control of his vehicle and traveled across a median where the SUV collided head-on with a car. A truck pulling a trailer was also hit while in the southbound lanes. Rescue workers arrived at the scene. A male passenger in the SUV sustained critical injuries and was taken to Orlando Health for treatment. A female passenger in the southbound car suffered serious injured and was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center. Neither of the passengers was identified.
Troopers have not determined the cause of the collision. An investigation remains ongoing at this time and there is no further information available.
