An Ormond motorcycle officer was seriously injured and airlifted in an accident that happened on Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened on Hand Avenue around 3 p.m.
The accident took place when the officer was responding to a possible armed suspect and had his lights and siren on. A truck suddenly made a U-turn in front of him and the Ormond motorcycle officer struck the side of the door. He was airlifted to the Halifax Hospital as a trauma alert. A lead pastor said that the officer is a regular at his church and talked to the officer at the hospital. He was left with broken bones and doesn’t really remember anything about the accident. He’s expected to make a full recovery.
The driver of the truck only received minor injuries. He was treated at the scene.
