Paisley, FL (May 18, 2019) - One person is dead and two others injured after a wrong-way crash in Paisley on Saturday, May 18th. The crash took place around 7:35 am on County Road 42.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Joseph Ferguson, 35, was driving a 2004 Dodge pickup traveling eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he traveled in the westbound lanes and struck a 1986 Ford driven by James Koon. The crash then affected a 1997 Dodge pickup truck and a 2017 Ford SUV. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor at this point and charge are pending against Ferguson.
There is nothing more devastating and heartbreaking than losing a loved one in a traffic accident. Accidents happen suddenly and without warning and there is often little that can be done to avoid them. In the case of a head-on crash, many victims suffer serious and fatal injuries when they are struck by a negligent driver. Although an investigation is ongoing, Joseph Ferguson appears likely to be held responsible for negligence in this tragic crash.
