Palm Beach County, FL (May 18, 2019) - A three-vehicle crash in Palm Beach County left one person dead early Saturday morning. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of I-95, near Hypoluxo Road around 2:00 am.
Police say that a 2016 Lexus driven by 21-year-old Cody Demarco Brown crashed into the rear of a 2008 Toyota Camry driven by a 40-year-old woman. The Camry was pushed forward into a 2008 Dodge Avenger, driven by 46-year-old Avochon Tobyce Postell. The driver of the Camry died as a result of the crash. Her identity has not been released at this time pending family notification.
Both Brown and a passenger sustained minor injuries but did not go to the hospital. Postell suffered serious injuries and was taken to Bethesda Hospital for treatment. The crash remains under investigation and there is no indication at this time whether charges will be issued.
We wish to extend our thoughts and sympathies to the family of the woman who died in this tragic crash on I-95. Fatal accidents are, unfortunately, fairly common in Florida and are reported about every three hours. In this accident, it appears as though the deceased victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rear-end collisions are typically the fault of the driver who causes contact with the vehicle in front of them.
