Palm Coast, FL (September 22, 2018) - A head-on crash in Palm Coast sent two women to the hospital on Saturday, September 22nd. The crash occurred on the Royal Palms Parkway just after 7:00 am.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. Authorities report that a white Chevrolet Equinox was traveling west on when it collided with a burgundy Toyota Corolla traveling east. The sequence of events leading to the crash is still under investigation as officials have yet to determine which vehicle crossed the center line. Both drivers suffered serious injuries in the collision. Speed does not appear to be a factor, however, distraction has not yet been ruled out.
Traffic was diverted until just after 9:00 am as the road remained closed near the crash scene. The identities of the injured drivers are not available at this time.
In this crash, police will continue to investigate in an effort to determine which of the two drivers is responsible for this head-on crash. In many cases, distractions will play a role in a driver traveling left of center and striking another vehicle head-on. Ultimately, the driver who was not responsible for this crash will have a legal claim for personal injury against the other driver. We hope that both drivers experience a quick and complete recovery from their injuries sustained in this serious crash.
