Palmetto, FL (June 23, 2021) - A fatal car accident was reported in Palmetto on Wednesday, June 23rd. The crash took place on 21st Street West at the intersection with 8th Avenue.
According to reports, one person was killed and another was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injures. It is not clear what caused the crash to occur and the victims have not been identified at this time. The road was closed following the accident and motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.

A driver was killed after being involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer in Union County on Wednesday morning. The accident took place around 1:45 p.m. along State Road 121 at the intersection of NE 157th Street. According to authorities, a car was traveling southbound on SR 121 when the vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer that was traveling northbound. The car then veered onto the southbound shoulder and caught fire. The driver sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been released at this time pending family notification. The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident. There is no word regarding the cause of the crash at this time.
