Paul Jeffrey Newcombe, Victim in Hit-and-Run Accident, Dies of Injuries

A DeFuniak Springs man, 57-year-old Paul Jeffrey Newcombe, was a victim in a hit-and-run accident that took his life. He was hit by a Jeep while he was walking in Walton County.
Witnesses say that the Jeep might have been bronze in color and was traveling north on U.S. 331 when the driver struck Newcombe. The driver of the Jeep kept traveling onward without stopping. Witnesses said that the pedestrian was lying on the ground before the Jeep struck him.
An investigation continues.
