Penscaola Pedestrian Killed When He Didn’t Use the Crosswalk

Pensacola police are working on identifying a Pensacola pedestrian who did not cross the street at a crosswalk, killing him in a horrific accident. Since 2016, an officer says that there have been 47 pedestrian-related accidents, with three of them being fatal. The officer says that a lot of pedestrians lead to these accidents by not properly using crosswalks.

Cervantes Street was shut down following the accident so that police could conduct an investigation. The pedestrian was fatally struck Tuesday night. The man was initially taken to the hospital for treatment but died due to his injuries.

The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of SR 54 and Old Millpond Drive. He then proceeded into the intersection where his vehicle collided with a pickup truck traveling westbound on SR 54.   • Putnam County, FL - Pedestrian Sustains Critical Injuries in SR-207 Crash

    An 80-year-old pedestrian in Putnam County was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on State Road 207. The incident occurred on Monday, February 25th. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say that Trenton Luke exited his stopped vehicle on SR-207. As he was walking away from the car, he was hit by another vehicle. Luke was taken by medical helicopter to Shands Medical Center. His injuries are life-threatening. Officers did not identify the driver of the vehicle that struck Luke. Read more
