Phillip Meadows Killed While Walking and Struck by Vehicle

49-year-old Phillip Meadows was killed when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle near Trinity and Tamarind Boulevards early this morning. Meadows is of New Port Richey. He was wearing dark clothing at the time and walking in the westbound lane of Trinity Boulevard at the time.

Meadows was struck by a Mercedes Benz driven by 63-year-old David Moaney. The vehicle was traveling west on the unlighted roadway.

Meadows was killed at the scene.

    The Florida Highway Patrol was at the scene of a hit-and-run crash in Pinellas County on Wednesday evening. Troopers responded to the scene around 8:50 p.m. According to a report, at least one person was injured in the crash. Troopers say that the accident was a hit-and-run collision. There is no information on the events leading up to the crash or any details regarding the suspect vehicle. A roadblock was set up at the scene as passing motorists were urged to use caution when traveling through the area.
