Pinellas Park, FL (July 10, 2018) – In Pinellas Park, a hit-and-run accident took place that led to one arrest. The accident involved a bicyclist and another driver of a vehicle.
31-year-old Kenneth Stivers surrendered himself to officers at the Pinellas Park Police Department after a hit-and-run accident where he fled the scene after causing serious injuries to another party.
The accident happened at the intersection of US 19 North and 70th Avenue North when a 20-year-old named Duncan Craver was struck by a Chevy pickup truck that then fled the scene after it hit him. It was determined that Craver was crossing the roadway on his bicycle even though the device was telling him not to cross. Craver started to cross and then stood in the median with his bike. This is when he was struck by the pickup truck.
Witnesses told police that the pickup truck was traveling south at the time. It drifted from its lane for unknown reasons and struck Craver. Craver was immediately taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A witness took a photo of the pickup truck, which is why they were able to identify him. The police are still taking a closer look at the accident at this time.
