Rene Trujillo Died in Accident Involving Front-End Loader

An 81-year-old man lost his life in an industrial accident in South Bay on Wednesday morning. The victim was identified as Rune Trujillo of Canal Point. Trujillo was an independent contractor of the company.

When Trujillo got out of his truck, he stepped directly into the path of a front-end loader. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is being examined in an autopsy. OSHA is also investigating the accident.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a car was traveling in the northbound lanes when the driver exited the highway at the Selmon Expressway.   • Opa-Locka, FL - Three Hospitalized in Serious Crash on Northwest 135th Street

    Police and rescue workers responded to a serious crash in Opa-Locka on Saturday, January 26th. The crash took place on Northwest 135th Street and 27th Avenue around 4:30 am. The Opa-Locka Police along with the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were present at the scene. Officers say that one car's front tires and bumper were severed from the vehicle in the impact of the crash. The car's tires were seen wrapped around a tree. EMS workers transported the injured victims to a local hospital. All are listed in stable condition with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. Read more
