49-year-old Richard Louis Hamilton struck and ran over his toddler son by accident last week. He is now facing charges of negligent homicide in the death, especially due to the fact that this is not the first time that he has been charged with a similar crime while drunk.
The accident happened when Hamilton was moving his truck in the yard of his home when he felt a bump under the tire. He stopped the truck and realized he had run over his son. His son was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In 2007, he was also charged in a hit-and-run crash where he hit a 5-year-old and fled the scene, even though the girl was seriously injured. A neighbor saw Hamilton and his son playing together in the yard before the incident occurred.
