Accidents happen on our roadways every day throughout Florida, causing serious injuries and fatalities in the worst cases. What happens to those who are outside of their vehicles at the time of an accident, such as those who are stuck on the side of a highway or have to walk through traffic for different reasons? We want to help if your loved one has lost their life in one of these accidents.
40-year-old Robert Ogren from Pensacola lost his life in an accident on Thursday when his vehicle became disabled. State police discovered that Ogren’s vehicle stopped working in the inside lane of I-10 near Milepost 77. Ogren then left his vehicle and started walking around in the lane of travel to take a closer look. As a result, he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling east in the inside lane.
Ogren was killed at the scene. The driver who struck Ogren and eight other occupants were all wearing seatbelts and did not sustain injuries. It is not believed that alcohol played a role.
