A crash is being investigated involving a vehicle and a motorcycle that occurred on April 1 around 8:14 p.m. Investigators found that the accident involved 75-year-old Ellem Smith, who was driving her 2006 Chevrolet Equinox when she attempted to turn onto Ridge Road.
Suddenly, Smith made an error when she was trying to make a turn, and traveled in the southbound left turn lane instead of the road she was supposed to be on. That’s when a motorcyclist was suddenly struck by the Equinox. The motorcyclist is 47-year-old Robert Schuster.
Schuster received serious injuries to his lower extremities and was transferred to Bayfront Medical Center.
