Rockledge, FL (March 28, 2019) - A hit-and-run in a local neighborhood left a plumber with serious injuries on Thursday, March 28th. Police say that the plumber arrived on Jamestown Drive before 8:00 a.m. to complete a job.
The plumber was hit by a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Mark Wells. Following the crash, he was left pinned between two vehicles. Wells fled the scene on foot before police could arrive. When rescue workers responded to the crash, they airlifted the injured victim a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, he is expected to survive.
Authorities converged on the scene and apprehended Wells shortly after the collision. He was taken into custody in connection with the crash but there was no word on what specific charges he faces at this time.
Hit and run collisions can be frustrating for victims. Such crashes account for about 25% of all reported accidents in Florida. When you have been involved in one of these accidents, you may be feeling angry and frustrated at the other party for failing to take responsibility for their own actions. In some cases, the hit-and-run driver is apprehended and will have to face justice. In other cases, the driver is never located, despite the best efforts of all involved.
If you have been involved in a crash where a driver has left the scene, you still have legal rights and there are ways to recover compensation on your behalf. An experienced and skilled Florida car accident attorney will be able to explain your options and a path for you to move forward. At Rubenstein Law, we have handled hundreds of these cases and we know where to turn to help you on your path to recovery.
