A fatal pedestrian accident takes place approximately two times per day in our state. Pedestrians are especially vulnerable to the risk of death or serious injury when they have been struck by vehicles. Many pedestrian crashes occur without warning and at high speed, causing catastrophic results. Pedestrians are most likely to be involved in crashes at night, in the early morning hours, and in poorly lit areas.
