Sarasota, FL (April 30, 2021) - Police in Sarasota responded to the scene of a major car accident on Friday afternoon. The collision took place on Bee Ridge Road near the intersection of S. Tamiami Trail.
Rescue workers also arrived shortly after the accident occurred. There were serious injuries reported in the accident, however, there is no information on the events that led up to the collision. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time. The crash caused the closure of the westbound lanes of Bee Ridge Road. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel and to avoid the crash scene if possible.
