Seminole County, FL (July 23, 2019) - A rollover crash between a car and a tow truck left one man dead and another injured. The crash happened on Sunday, July 21st, around 6:40 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that two men, identified as 21-year-old Michael Freeman and 27-year-old Brandon Robbins, were traveling in a 1999 Subaru when they collided with the back of a tow truck. The Subaru flipped over after the accident. Freeman was ejected from the car after impact. He was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Freeman was also taken to Central Florida Regional with serious injuries. The driver of the tow truck sustained minor injuries.
At this time, police say it is not clear who was driving the Subaru when the crash occurred. Alcohol did not play a factor in the collision. Officials are still investigating.
Each year, Florida will see about 250,000 injury accidents statewide. When a rollover crash takes place, injuries are almost certain to result. The impact of a rollover can cause catastrophic and debilitating consequences, even death in some cases. Rollover accidents are typically caused by the speed of the vehicles involved and the force of the impact. In this crash, police will continue to investigate the cause and attempt to find out which driver was responsible.
