Seminole County, FL (January 26, 2019)- A 56-year-old man who was killed in a motorcycle crash on Old Mims Road has been identified by authorities. The accident happened on Friday, January 25th.
Police say that Clovis Luis Madalozzo was riding a 2013 Honda motorcycle eastbound on CR 426 when he came to a stop sign with Old Mims Road. At the same time, a 69-year-old driving an SUV pulled into Madalozzo's path, striking his motorcycle. Madalozzo tried to swerve to avoid the crash but collided with the side of the SUV. He was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver, who was not identified, was not hurt in the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the collision, however, they say that charges are currently pending against the driver in connection with Madalozzo's death.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Clovis Madalozzo in this fatal motorcycle crash. A fatal accident is reported on Florida's streets and highways every three hours. The odds of being involved in a serious crash on a motorcycle are quite high. Motorcycles offer less protection from the force and impact of crashes when compared with cars and other traditional vehicles. In addition, a motorcyclist is likely to be thrown from their bike following a crash which is also likely to cause serious injuries or even death.
