A small plane crashed near St. Lucie Inlet today and the pilot and his passenger passed away. It is believed that the plane crashed around 11:45 a.m. The last thing that air traffic control heard from the pilot is that he wanted to change course to avoid bad weather, and then they lost communication.
Coast Guard sent crews, where they found debris. As soon as they found the two occupants, they knew that they were dead. The crash is being investigated and the pilot and passenger’s names have not been released.
