A Southside home was in for a surprise today when a vehicle smashed into it. The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. in the morning and left a huge, gaping hole in the house.
A witness said that the woman was attempting to avoid a vehicle on the road and lost control, running into the house on Old Kings Road. The homeowner said that the room where the vehicle hit was her son’s room. His bed is right against the wall. The young boy was sleeping in his mother’s room last night, thankfully.
The only injuries reported were bruises.

A 1-year-old child was killed after being run over by a vehicle near his home on Tuesday, January 29th. Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office were called to a mobile home park in on 27th Street Southeast in Ruskin around 2:00 pm. A neighbor who witnessed the event said that the child was playing in his front yard with a dog. At the same time, a neighbor was attempting to leave the boy's residence. The neighbor struck the boy as she pulled out of the driveway. The young child was rushed to St. John's Hospital South where he was pronounced dead just before 3:00 pm. Read more
