The driver of the motorcycle was rushed to Flagler Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The passenger was taken to Flagler Hospital with serious injuries and listed in stable condition. Neither of the motorcyclists has been identified at this time and there is no word on the events which caused the crash to occur.
A police investigation is underway.
Approximately 600 motorcyclists will lose their lives in crashes across Florida annually. Motorcycle accident statistics continue to show that riding a motorcycle is the most dangerous mode of transportation as crashes can often lead to very serious injuries and death. Motorcycles offer little protection from the force of a collision and a motorcycle rider is often thrown from the bike, thus increasing the risk of being hurt in a crash. Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim and we hope that the injured passenger has a full recovery.
