Tallahassee, FL (July 18, 2018) – The Leon County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of an accident that led to brain damage in one party. A paramedic was blamed for the accident involving an ambulance.
At the time of the accident, the ambulance was taking a patient to the hospital. It suddenly slammed into another vehicle. Doctors say that the driver of the vehicle suffered significant brain damage and will never be able to fully recover.
There were dash cameras in the ambulance and police were able to dictate that the light turned red about five seconds before the ambulance crossed into the intersection. The ambulance, according to police, never even slowed down. The paramedic was suspended for three shifts and had to go through training following the accident.
