Tampa, FL (January 18, 2020) - A University of South Florida police vehicle was involved in a crash that occurred on Friday, January 17th. The collision happened near the intersection of Fletcher Avenue and 50th Street.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the officer was involved in a traffic stop at the location. While the traffic stop was in progress, another vehicle came along and swerved to avoid hitting the officer. The car struck the officer's patrol vehicle and rolled over. The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The officer was not hurt in the accident. No word on whether any charges are expected.
