Around 6:30 a.m. this morning, an accident left ten schoolchildren injured when two vehicles collided. The accident happened when a Hyundai was traveling on Clarendon Drive toward a KFC in Florida when it collided with a Toyota vehicle. The Toyota was attempting to make a right turn at the time.
The two vehicles collided in the midst of the intersection. The Hyundai careened into an electric pole, while the Hyundai was sent off of the roadway and struck the entrance to a garage. At this time, it is believed that the Hyundai was transporting the schoolchildren to the school known as Laerskool Gustav Preller.
The ten children who were injured in the accident were between the ages of 10 and 13. The children were rushed to different hospitals in the area, but many of them received only minor injuries. A few were treated at the scene by ambulance services.
In 2017, over 250,000 people were injured in serious accidents that risked their lives. Especially in cases where children sustain injuries, many people wonder where to turn.
