In a Pensacola accident, many people sustained injuries and one woman was killed when she was checking on occupants in the accident.
The accident occurred when a truck driver, 21-year-old Kyle Harrison, was traveling north on Highway 90 and failed to see that the vehicle in front of him had stopped. Harrison rear-ended a Camry driven by 36-year-old Chanphana Tran. The force caused the Camry to continue traveling forward and strike a Hyundai Tucson driven by 37-year-old Holly Birch. In Tran’s vehicle were three young passengers. They all suffered minor injuries.
Harrison exited his vehicle to check on the drivers as a pedestrian, 34-year-old Dannah Marie McCormick, also checked to make sure everyone was okay. A fourth car driven by 80-year-old Cecelia Mroz came out of nowhere and struck both of them.
Harrison received critical injuries and was taken to the hospital. McCormick died at the scene.
Charges are still pending.
