A construction worker was seriously injured in a Vero Beach crane collapse that happened today. The incident took place at a hotel construction site when the crane suddenly started to topple over.
The man might have hit a soft spot on the ground when the vehicle flipped over onto its side. The crane operator then struck his head on a pile of lumber, causing a severe head injury. The man was originally unconscious but then woke up.
He was quickly transported to a hospital for treatment.

One person was killed and another was hurt following a two-car crash on MacDill Avenue in Tampa. The crash happened just after midnight on Friday, June 5th at the intersection with Kennedy Boulevard. Police say that a man driving a Honda Civic northbound on MacDill entered the intersection against a red light. The Honda slammed into Cadillac that was traveling westbound on Kennedy. The Honda driver, a man in his 50s, succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene. The driver of the Cadillac suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Neither driver has been identified at this time.
