Volusia County, FL (August 2, 2018) – Florida Highway Patrol has been investigating a bicycle hit-and-run accident that took place on Wednesday morning. Police now believe they have located the vehicle that struck the 72-year-old man, ending his life.
Troopers discovered a 2005 Chevy Tahoe with front-end damage approximately two miles from the crash site. A woman driving the vehicle struck the man, identified as Pedro Perez, around 5:15 a.m. as he was crossing near Enterprise Road.
Troopers received various tips from those who said they located the vehicle in a local neighborhood. One woman identified who might have been in the car at the time but told troopers that she wouldn’t speak to them without a lawyer present.
The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending at this time.
