West Palm Beach, FL (June 30, 2019) - A man is dead following a crash involving three cars on I-95 in West Palm Beach. The crash took place on I-95 south, near Gateway Boulevard.
The initial events occurred when an SUV, driven by 47-year-old JN Hilaire Estime, rolled over onto its side. A Toyota Tacoma, driven by 51-year-old Sergio Estime, was traveling behind the SUV. Sergio Estime crashed into the undercarriage of the overturned vehicle. Following the collision, Sergio Estime got out of his vehicle to survey the crash damage. As he was standing outside of the truck, he was hit by a Toyota Matrix, driven by 28-year-old Miqueas Moralez Ramirez. Sergio Estime suffered catastrophic injuries and was taken to Delray Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. No one else was injured as a result of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the collision and there is no word on potential charges at this time.
We wish to extend our condolences and sympathies to the family and loved ones of Sergio Estime, who died in this tragic West Palm Beach crash. The moments after an accident are sometimes the most deadly. When a driver steps out of their vehicle, they are in a vulnerable position with regard to oncoming traffic. This is especially true on busy roads, such as I-95. Police will continue to investigate this crash to determine liability.
