We reported on a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on McGregor Boulevard yesterday morning. The man has been identified as 49-year-old William Kerl of Fort Myers.
Florida Highway Patrol said that, at the time, Kerl was riding 2008 Harley-Davidson northbound in the inside lane of McGregor. He had a green traffic signal. Katrina Cruz, a 28-year-old, was southbound and trying to turn left. Cruz made a left-turn in the path of Kerl’s motorcycle, which led to the passenger side of the car being hit.
Kerl was not wearing a helmet at the time and was pronounced dead. The crash is still being investigated.
