We’ve reported previously on an accident involving an Amtrak train when an older man was on the tracks at the time. The Amtrak train had 497 passengers on it at the time of the accident, which happened on Tuesday.
Initially, news reports did not release the name of the man, as they were trying to reach next-of-kin and investigate why he was standing on the tracks when the train came through. The train was traveling northbound at the time of the incident when it struck the man.
His name has now been released. He is identified as 48-year-old Anthony Cavallero of Paisley, Florida.
